Aufeis" is a technical term used in hydrogeology. It is German for "ice on top" and is defined as a "sheet-like mass of layered ice that forms from successive flows of ground water." These images show varying degrees of digital rendering that explores alluring combinations of snow, gel, ice crystals and moving water.
